I commenced my nurse education in the late seventies and qualified as an enrolled nurse in 1980. My career has spanned three decades and has included working in a variety of clinical settings both in-patient and latterly community, working in a community resource centre for adults as a CPN. My commitment to continually professionally develop has allowed me to gain an RMN qualification and subsequently a BSc, PGc teaching qualification, PGd and more recently an MSc Community Health qualification. I joined the mental health team at GCU in late 2008 having previously worked as a Practice Education Facilitator for over four years. My current interest is in community mental health across the age spectrum.
